Karla J. Strand is a freelance writer and book reviewer as well as the Gender and Women’s Studies Librarian for the University of Wisconsin. With a background in history and women's studies, she completed her doctorate in Information Science via University of Pretoria in South Africa. Karla's work centers women, girls, and those of other oppressed backgrounds.
